They look dapper and diaphanous in their elegant suits and caps as they stand firm with pride and make meaningful motions with precision and passion while holding their rifles. They march with dignity and are led by their masters, but they act as a team when they move with the same principle. They’ve drawn a mixture of looks of dapper, promising, and frolicsome Michaelites that create meaningful and impressive motions and precisions on stage as they’ve showcased their God-given talents and potential to everyone. SMC-BED Wins in Overall Indigay 2017 Literary Events By Rohaina Dansal No copyright Infringement Intended The Basic Education Department (BED) was declared the overall champion for the literary events category during the Indigay 2017 held at St. Joseph Gymnasium on September 21-26, 2017. Garnering a total points of 565, BED shows off their wit and skills in literary events as they excel the most among the other five contenders coming from different colleges. Following the overall total ranking of literary events, CED made it to the 2 nd  place with 484 points and NCAAS won the 3 rd  place with 475 points. On the other hand, CBA got the 4 th  place with 375 points, CECS got the 5 th  place with 345 points, and CHRM got the 6 th  place with 324 points. SMC Participation in Araw ng Iligan Games By Rohaina Dansal No Copyright Infringement Intended The annual charter day of Iligan City which served as the 67 th  Araw ng Iligan was successfully celebrated by Iliganons last June 16, 2017, at the Anahaw Amphitheater, Iligan City through the initiative of the Local Government and administration of the city Mayor Celso G. Regencia. Despite the threats and reverse that the city government has been receiving because of this terrorist issue, it was not a hindrance or reason for Iligaonons to not pursue celebrating their annual event. It was said to be a grand triple celebration and a 3-day activity but it was extended until June 17 and 18, 2017. Let us say that history repeats itself but with a bit of change. Actually, lots of changes. History repeats itself in terms only that President Duterte was the second president to declare Martial Law after Former President Marcos. Today’s declaration of Martial Law is far different from the history we know. And I think it is very self-explanatory for us to observe these changes.
