Mental Health Week Celebration and Culmination

Mindanao State University held its 4-day Mental Health celebration on November 11-14, 2019 with a theme: “Mental Health: Keeping Abreast with Sound Mind and Body Amidst the Continuing Transition of the Society.”

The Division of Student Affairs (DSA) organized the 4-day series of events comprising different activities that raise awareness on Mental Health. On its first day, a Walkathon and an Opening Program were graced at the Antonio Isidro Hall where Dr. Florencio D. Recoleto Jr. gave his opening remarks.

To welcome the event, there was a mental health launching and cutting of ribbon by MSU officials which includes the MSU System President, Dr. Habib W. Macaayong, DPA. President Macaayong also talked about the environmental and behavioral conditions of employees in an organization.

The keynote speaker of the event was introduced by Ms. Faridah D. Alango of the DSA. The keynote speaker was Professor Aminoding B. Limpao, a faculty from the College of Social Sciences and Humanities (CSSH) and a President of the Leading Individuals to Flourish and Thrive.

On the second day of the event, a Psychosocial Workshop was held at the IPDM Hall, while on its third day, a Yoga and Meditation Session and “Draw MeH” activity was held at the CSPEAR and IPDM Hall respectively.

Its culminating day on November 14, 2019, was graced at the IPDM Hall where Mr. Jalaluddin M. Alonto gave his opening remarks. Present on the culmination day of Mental Health Week were the DSA Director, Dr. Labimombao A.D Macabando, PhD and the Director of University Medical Services and Hospital, Dr. Ramli V. Usman where they also delivered their messages. The Supreme Student Government Prime Minister, Mr. Nurbani Bin Jamel C. Macaraya was also present in the event and gave his message as well. The event was concluded by closing remarks from the Director of the Office of Information, Press & Publication, Ms. Aliah P. Cali-Pascan, MPA.

  JPIA MSU-Main Seizes Online Partnership Opportunities By Rohaina Dansal   JPIA MSU-Main graced partnership opportunities with other JPIA local chapters and organizations. [MSU NEWS] MSU-Main SSG Ratified its By-Laws

  MSU-Main SSG Ratified its By-Laws By Rohaina Dansal   Photo by MSU-Main SSG Mindanao State University-Supreme Student Government (MSU-SSG) successfully presented its ratified Constitutional By-Laws (CBL) on February 16, 2023, at the MSU International Convention Center. A notable change during the presentation is the transition of MSU-SSG to a parliamentary system of governance. The presentation invited all MSU-SSG officers, MSU-Main officials, Colleges and Departments Student Councils, and all university student organizations. According to SSG, the event will engage the invited stakeholders in meaningful discussions that will bring them together. It will help them strengthen their critical thinking and finalize the said CBL of the organization, which will help protect the rights of the whole campus student body.
