An essential highlight of the Mindanao State University’s 58th Founding Anniversary was the comeback of the King Faisal Prize from the Secretary General of the King Faisal Foundation, His Excellency, Dr. Abdulaziz Alsebail.

The return King Faisal Prize was given to MSU System President, Dr. Habib W. Macaayong since the Father of Mindanao State University, the late Senator Ahmad Domocao Alonto, who was once a recipient of the award. It was Dr. Alsebail’s presentation to the University in recognition of MSU's unceasing service in providing quality education to Mindanaons for 58 years.

Dr. Alsebail was the guest speaker of the 58th Foundation Day celebration of MSU which culminated on September 1, 2019, at the Dimaporo Gymnasium, MSU Main Campus, Marawi City with a theme, “MSU at 58: Transcending Peace and Development Effort Through Quality Education for Global Competitiveness.”

The Philippine Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Atty. Adnan V. Alonto was also present where he was given by His Excellency a portrait of the late Senator Ahmad Domocao A. Alonto, the founder of Mindanao State University and a recipient of the prestigious King Faisal Prize Award for Service to Islam in 1988.

Present at the event were the university officials, college deans, heads of offices, faculty and staff, and students together with some delegates from other MSU campuses. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm from the different colleges as they cheered and chanted their respective colleges which left the guests impressed.

The guests were also entertained by the cultural dance performance of the Sining Kambayoka Ensemble. A cultural fashion showcase presented by some college deans and faculty members of the University added color to the event.

For this 58th Founding Anniversary of MSU, the College of Engineering was held as the overall Champion among the different colleges in all competing events which were composed of Literary Events, Musical Events, Dance Extravaganza, and Sports Events.

As Dr. Alsebail highlighted in his speech, "Remember that you will be remembered by what you contribute to the society, not by your degree... Never think that you know everything."

[STORY] My SGV Internship Experience

My SGV Internship Story By Rohaina Dansal While May 2022 was the best month for others like the CPALE passers, it was the contrary for me. I lost two of my loved ones within that month. On top of that, the month of May was the final weeks of our 2nd semester in 3rd year. Things were really busy with all the upcoming exams, research paper defense, and complying requirements. There was even no time to breathe because we had to proceed to our summer classes with full units. During summer classes, while my batchmates were already talking about their target agencies and offices for our OJT requirement in the next semester (August), I didn't even worry about it.  They say when you lose something, God replaces it with good things. During our summer classes, the in-charge professor for our OJT messaged our batch GC an invitation letter from SGV for their SGV NLIP 2022. He said anyone can try to apply on the given link but only 10 will be chosen from our school. Upon reading it, I ignored i...
